From the start, Els and Serge were committed to 100% authentic Belgian chocolate. After tasting many local chocolates in the U.S. and finding most of them lacking the rich quality they adored, they knew their creations had to stand apart.
Every piece would be made with premium Belgian cocoa, following the time-honored techniques that make Belgian chocolates world-famous for their luxurious taste and texture. To ensure this authenticity, Serge even trained with master chocolatiers in Belgium, honing the art of tempering, molding, and crafting delicate pralines.
Each recipe was developed with an emphasis on quality, flavor, and a touch of luxury – you can truly feel the passion in every bonbon they create.
They chose the name “The Belgian BonBon” because it’s fun and memorable – a little alliteration that nods to Belgium’s confectionery heritage. (In fact, in Europe a “bonbon” often refers to a filled chocolate praline.
In our case, our chocolates are actually small square tablets rather than traditional filled candies – but each one is packed with so much flavor and love that bonbon felt like the perfect name!) Every chocolate square we produce is a miniature labor of love, meant to bring a smile of delight with each bite.
